Megan Weaver is a graduate of Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts where she earned an MFA in Film Production-Directing. She has written and directed several short films including her award-winning thesis film, Without Wings, which stars Academy Award nominee, Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit).Megan has also worked in the Hollywood industry as a Casting Director for award-winning short films such as She's a Fox, which has won numerous awards internationally and has been praised for its phenomenal child-centered cast. In addition to her film projects, Megan has directed and starred in many stage productions. Her most recent stage directing endeavors have been Rumors at Irvine Valley College and It's A Wonderful Life: The Musical at Camino Real Playhouse. As an actress, Megan has been in Irvine Valley College productions as Ms. Vera Claythorne in And Then There Were None and Ms. Tracy Lord in Philadelphia Story. Most recently she starred as Shelby Latcherie in Steel Magnolias at Camino Real Playhouse. Megan is currently Children's Theatre Workshop's Assistant Director, has taught our Rising Stars Program, and is our current instructor for the Shining Stars and Film Stars Programs. She is also a teacher at the Film & Television Conservatory for the Orange County School of the Arts (OSCA) and a professor in Vanguard University's Cinema Arts Department. Kirsten Dierking is a graduate of California State University - Fullerton where she earned a Bachelor's degree in English. She has been working for Children's Theater Workshop for the past seven years, performing such roles as Cinderella, Maid Marian,and Snow White for their Brown Bag shows and traveling production. Kirsten also performs locally in community theaters around the Orange County area such as Irvine Valley College, Cabrillo Playhouse , Camino Real Playhouse and the Dana Point Theater Company. A few of her favorite past roles have been Sophia in Fools,Yente in Fiddler on the Roof, Mayor Maggie in Batboy: the Musical, and Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet. She has been teaching classes at CTW for the past three years and has enjoyed both introducing young children to theater and seeing their passion for it grow . Currently, Kirsten is the teacher for CTW's 7-9 year olds, Rising Stars Program, during the academic year and she is also on our CTW Board of Directors.
